BARBARA KAY SIMMONS

The Lord called Barbara Kay Simmons, at the age of 65 years old, home on January 5, 2020.      Barbara was born in Bell Fountain, Ohio and lived in various locations until 1971 when she moved with her family to Guild, TN.     She was employed with Parkridge West Hospital in Jasper, TN.

Barbara graduated in 1985 as a certified LPN.  She began her career at South Pittsburg Hospital.  After the hospital closed, she began a new career at Whitwell Hospital then after this hospital closed, she went to work at Grandview Hospital.   Then the transition from Grandview Hospital to Parkridge West.  Barbara was known for the love of her LPN career.   Taking care of people was her lifetime dream. 

She loved her family and friends, enjoyed the beauty of flowers, and her greatest love was the great outdoors and wildlife of mother nature.   

Barbara is preceded in death by her mother, Margie Kerns.  

Those left to cherish her memories are her father, Ralph Kerns; son, Jeff Huff (Faye McFalls); daughter, Barbara “Sissy” Rogers (Leonard Moore); brothers, Rick Kerns and Gene Kerns (Brenda); sisters, Diane, Judy and Karen Kerns and Joyce Tudors (Wayne); grandchildren, Tiffany Rogers, Stephanie Dagnan and Remington Higdon and great grandson, Noah Dagnan along with several nieces and nephews.

The family will have visitation on Wednesday, January 8, 2020 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm CST at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.

Barbara will be laid to rest at a later date in a private ceremony with her family.
