The Lord called William L. “Bill” Stanton, Sr., home on Sunday, March 3rd, 2019. Bill was born in Indianapolis, Indiana. He spent his career serving in the United States Air Force which led him to traveling the United States as he served our country. After Bill's retirement, he and his wife, Kay made their home in Sequatchie, Tennessee.
Bill enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing card games, and most of all reading murder mysteries. He was a huge Alabama sports fan and his best buddy was his dog, Jojo. His greatest love was his seven grandchildren.
Bill was preceded by the death of his parents, Leonard and Dorothy Stanton; his brother, Jim Stanton; and his four sisters, Barbara (Ralph) Wade, Karen, Sharon and Dina Stanton.
He will be cherished with memories by his beloved wife, Kay Stanton; son, William “Bill” (Selena) Stanton, Jr.; daughter, Barbara (Ronald) Brown; brother, Bobby Joe Stanton; sisters, Jeri (Robert) Doris and Vicki Phelps; grandchildren, Braden Brown, Lauren (Brandon) Johnson, Kayla Brown, Joshua Stanton, Avery Brown, Jennifer Stanton and Kaitlyn Stanton.
Visitation will be held at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee on Tuesday, March 5th, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm CST. Funeral services will follow the visitation in Tate Funeral Home Chapel at 6:00 pm CST.
Bill will be laid to rest on Wednesday, March 6th at 10:00 am CST at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee, with an honored military service by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
