Virginia Wyona Phillips

Virginia Wyona Phillips, 90, of Orme, TN., passed away Friday, July 6, 2018.

Virginia was a member of New Hope Church of God in New Hope, TN.

She was born April 27, 1928 to the late Maburn Guess Sr. & Gracie Elizabeth Bolton Guess. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, John Cecil Phillips; son Jimmy Clyde Phillips; brother, Harold Guess & William Carl Guess.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Jerry (Geraldine) Phillips, John Randall Phillips; daughters, Jane (Jerry) Keller, Debbie (Wayne) Grider and Lisa Matz; brothers, Roy Calvin(Ruth) Guess, Marcus Ray (Elaine) Guess, Mayburn (Patricia) Guess Jr.; sisters, Ethel McConney (Dave Simmons), Dorothy (Eddie) O’Neal, Joyce (Garin) Johnson and Johanne Guess; sister-in-laws, Helen Dean Phillips, Vata Ree Phillips and Mildred Duke; 13 Grandchildren; 15 Great Grandchildren; 10 Great Great Grandchildren.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Amedisys of Hospice for the loving care they gave their mother.

Visitation will be Sunday, July 8, 2018 from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. CST and Monday from 9:00 a.m. CST until time of service.

Funeral Services will be conducted from the Tate Funeral Home Chapel Monday, July 9, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. CST with Bro. Maburn Guess Jr. and Bro. Marcus Ray Guess officiating.

Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
