Timothy "Tim" Matthew Shirley

March 30, 1989 ~ July 13, 2019 (age 30)

 Timothy “Tim” Matthew Shirley passed in the early hours on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at the young age of 30.   Tim was born and raised in Jasper, Tennessee and was a graduate of the class of 2008 at Marion County High School, Jasper, TN.

After graduating from high school, Tim enlisted in the United States Navy and served for 8 years until he was Honorably discharged.   Returning home, he went to work at Foundry Pattern Services, Inc. in Chattanooga, TN as a machinist.  

Tim had a love and was known as a huge Tennessee Vols fan.  He loved all sports however nothing was a big as his “GO BIG ORANGE” football along with WWE Wrestling.   Tim loved pizza, his country, he was considered a loyal friend and he was always respectful to anyone that knew him.    You never saw Tim without a huge smile, he had a love of life and the best of manners.   Tim will be missed by all that knew him.  Tim was an overall amazing man.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Earl and Jane ( Hookey) Alder; Richard and Elizabeth (Moore) Alder; grandmother, Marilyn( Murphy)  Johnson; grandfather, Ralph Shirley; uncles, Terry Lee Alder and Ricky Shirley, cousin, Lee Alder and his beautiful niece, McKenna Rayne Shirley.

Those left to cherish his memories are his parents, Randy Shirley and Georgia (Alder) Shirley; step-father, Vean “Butch” Whitcher; brothers, Michael Shirley (Shannon Tucker); sisters, Jennifer (Adams) Neal (Deward) and Jaime(Shirley) Dyer (Eric); nieces, Stephanie Bowman (Chris) and Chelsea Neal; nephews, Benjamin and Ethan Neal and Dale and Micah Dyer along with several uncles, aunts and cousins.

Visitation for Tim will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at 12:00 noon to 8:00 pm CDT and Friday, July 19, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Tim’s funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home at 2:00 pm CDT immediately following the visitation.

He will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee with a Military Honor Ceremony by the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.
