Reverend Wilford McGillMay 5, 1929 ~ November 14, 2017 (age 88)
Reverend Wilford McGill, 88, of New Hope, TN, passed away Tuesday morning, November 14, 2017, at his home. He was born on May 5, 1929, in Dalton, GA.
He lived his life for God and the church and was a Pastor since his early twenties. He pastored many churches and built the Tiftonia Church of God. He also founded, built and Pastored the Community Full Gospel Church in New Hope in 1983. He was a retired member of the Boilermaker Local Union 454.
He was preceded in death by his first wife Rebecca Sue Garner McGill; infant son Roy Allen McGill; son Terry Wilford McGill ; grandson Jeremy Prince; his parents John Henry and Viola McGill; brothers Willard and Donny McGill; sister Eva Jo Shetter.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 35 years Charlotte Price McGill; children Janie (Mickey) Wilson of Pikeville, TN, Pamela (Shannon) Prince, Rodney (Kim) McGill, Melissa (Darrell) Tinker all of Trenton, GA; step-children David (Kim) Wooden Jr., and Audra Wooden of New Hope, TN ; brothers Neal (Bertie) McGill of Greenville, TN and Danny (Eunella) McGill of LaFayette, GA; In addition he has 14 grandchildren and multitudes of great-grandchildren.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to grandson John Wooden who was an excellent caregiver along with nurses and staff from Avalon Hospice.
Visitation will be Wednesday November 15, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. CST and Thursday, November 16, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. CST.
Funeral Services will be conducted from the Tate Funeral Home Chapel Friday, November 17, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. CST with Reverend Donnie Sutton officiating.
Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN.
