The angels sang as the Lord welcomed Pressie Griffith Ladd home on the eve of Saturday, March 9th, 2019. Pressie lived to the young age of 93 years. She had resided in Sequatchie, Tennessee her entire life raising her children and placing the blessings on her grandchildren.
Pressie was a beloved wife, mother, sister, friend and most of all a devoted grandmother along with a career as an amazing homemaker. She was known for her famous “peanut butter candy” in the neighborhood. Children flocked her home at Halloween just to get that specially wrapped peanut butter candy.
She was of the Baptist faith and was a dedicated member of Coppinger Cove Baptist Church. Pressie taught primary Sunday School for many years and she was honored to be a deacon’s wife.
Pressie was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar L. Ladd, parents, John and Viola Griffith; and son-in-laws, Earl Greene and W.R. Keener along with brothers and sisters.
The loved ones to cherish her life are; her son, Jimmy Lee (Tammy) Ladd; daughters, Linda Greene, Marcene Parsons and Wanda Keener along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Visitations for Mrs. Pressie will be Tuesday, March 12th, 2019 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel at Tate Funeral home following visitations on Tuesday at 2:00 pm CST with Brother Mike Teague officiating.
Pressie will be laid to rest at Pine Grove Cemetery in Jasper, Tennessee following the services.
