MILDRED M. LONG THOMAS

Mildred M. “Long” Thomas received her wings to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 9, 2019.  Mildred was born to her proud parents, William and Sallie Layne Fletcher on July 22, 1925.    She was raised in Whiteside, TN then made her final home in Jasper, TN. 

Mildred was a woman of love, compassion, a giving heart and adored her family and friends.   She loved cooking however her greatest love was her grandchildren.     Mildred was of the Church of God faith and member of the Crossroads Church of God.    She was also a member of the “Heritage Club” and she loved to travel on their many excursions.

Mildred is preceded in death by her parents; husband of her children, Charles Long; husband, Roy Thomas; and sons, Ronnie Long and Ray Rankin.

Those left to cherish her memories are her son, Wayne Long (Stella); grandchildren, Lisa Kirkendoll (Mike); Stacy Cleek (Michael) and Willie Long (Brandi); six great-grandchildren, Hannah, Alex, Payton, Aydan, Jocelyn and Brinley; and special friends, David and Judy Burns.

The family will have visitations on Wednesday, June 12, 2019 from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm CDT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN with the funeral following at 4:00 pm in the chapel of Tate Funeral Home.

Mildred will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens, Jasper, TN.
