On Thursday, October 10th, 2019, the Lord called Larry G. Smith home. Larry lived in Carrollton, Georgia. After graduating high school, Larry enlisted in the United State Marine Corps then years later enlisted into the United States Army. After service to his country with an honorable discharge, Larry began a lifetime career as a railroad conductor with CSX Railroad Co. After Larry had retired, he worked part time for attorney’s as a private investigator.
Larry was very active in his local VFW and he was known as a man that had a full life of keeping himself busy.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James W. and Norma Jean Smith.
Those left to cherish his memories are his brothers, Garry J. Smith (Karen), Paul D. Smith and Robert W. Smith; sister, Sherry L. Smith along with host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Larry’s only wish was that in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his honor to Hospice of Chattanooga.
The family has requested that a private memorial service will be held at a later date.
