Katherine M. Newman

The Lord said to Katherine M. Newman on Monday, January 21st, 2019 it’s time to come home.  Katherine at the age of 80, passed away at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, TN.  She had been a lifetime resident of the Sequatchie, Tennessee community.

Katherine loved to cook, enjoyed making crafts, loved her family and after her mother passed away, she became the mother figure for her seven siblings.  She was of the Church of God faith and she attended South Pittsburg Church of God.

Those preceded in death are, her husband, Paul E. Newman, Sr., her father, Chester Keef; mother, Thelma Rankin Wilson; son, Paul E. Newman, Jr.; brother, Jack Keef; sister, Patricia Derryberry; and grandson, Jayden Newman. 

To continue her memories are her son, Joey (Joanna) Newman; daughter-in-law, Lynn Newman; brothers, Donald and Kenneth Wilson; sisters, Helen Lamb, Wanda Matheny and Linda Crabtree; grandchildren; Caden Newman, Alyssa, Brianna and Chloe Newman.

Visitations for family and friends will be held on Thursday, January 24th, 2019 from 3:00 pm CST to 8:00 pm CST and Friday, January 25th from 11:00 am CST to 1:00 pm at Tate Funeral home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Funeral will be held in the chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Friday, January 25th, 2019 at 1:00 pm CST with Brother Doyle Chamblee and Pastor David Swanner officiating.

Katherine will be laid to rest at Ladd’s Cemetery  in Guild, TN.
