JAMES PERL PICKETT
Celebrating a full life of love, the Lord called James Perl Pickett home on June 6, 2019. James Perl was born on August 11, 1952 in Whitwell, Tennessee. He was raised in Victoria by his grandmother, Willie Mae Pickett. James Perl attended Whitwell High School and grew up attending church at Belmont Primitive Baptist Church in Victoria, TN.
After graduating high school, James Perl was employed by Tennessee Valley Authority for over 40 years as a Plant Service Lead Foreman until his retirement.
James Perl had a laugh that was so illuminating. With his laughter, everyone would be uplifted and laugh with him. He was a wonderful father and he loved his family beyond measure. His greatest love was spending time with his grandchildren. James Perl had a fondness for classical cars.
Preceded in death by his grandparents, George Washington Pickett and Willie Mae Shelton Pickett and brother, Freddie Pickett.
Those left to cherish his memories are his son's from his former marriage to Flora Lee (Chubb) Pickett; Billy Wayne Pickett, Jeffery Lamar Pickett and his wife Terra Pickett, and James Lebron Pickett ; brother, Thomas Leroy Pickett; sisters, Sherry Pickett and Vanessa Yvonne Pickett; aunt, Helen Ford; eight grandchildren, Samantha, Deondra, Jamison, Jaxton, Sydney, Alex, Makiah, Donovan, and Melody; two great-grandchildren; special friend, James “Jellybean” Cunningham, along with a host of relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 12th, 2019 from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN.
A “Celebration of Life” will be held in the Chapel at Tate Funeral Home immediately following visitation at 12:00 noon.
James Perl will be laid to rest at McWilliams Cemetery in Victoria, TN.
