Howard Haskin Obituary

Major Howard H. Haskin, 89, of Jasper, TN,  passed away on Wednesday, February 7, 2018. Major Haskin served in the military for 32 years before retiring as a Major and earning a Bronze Star and a WWII Victory Award, among other service awards. He was a Veteran of the US Army Air Corps and the US Air Force. He served in WW II [Army], Korea, and Vietnam [USAF MASH unit commander]. While in Vietnam he received the Bronze Star. He continued to serve his community as a member of the Lions Club, American Legion, and VFW.  He gave selflessly of himself through many known and many unknown acts of community service to others. 

Howard who loved learning earned a master's in business administration from State University of NY - Plattsburgh and two bachelor degrees in chemical engineering and business management from University of Texas. He continued studying his whole life and became an expert in natural medicines.

He was preceded in death by his parents George Henry Haskin and Zera Hines Haskin; 1'st wife Gloria Theresa Haskin, brothers Robert, Darryl, Bruce and Billy, sisters Verdell and Hazel and infant granddaughter Sarah Haskin.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his wife Barbara Jean (Bobbi) Haskin, children: Herbert Charles (Jane) Haskin, Clark Edward (Doris) Haskin, Benjamin Haskin, Jenny (Larry) Trombley, Susan (Chuck) Timm, Kathleen Haskin, Terry Schiff (Seth Ruback), Michael (Giovanna) Schiff, Kelly (John) Schiff-Latshaw, grandchildren Martin and Robert Haskin; Aaron Haskin; Carrie Butler;  Alanah, Kelly and Ben Haskin; Laura Veith and Matthew Trombley; Meredith Mastin; Amanda Gillette; Kristin Lane; Amy Groezinger; Chad Timm; Jessica, Ashley, and Peter Belanger, Abraham and Emily Ducatte; Brent Holder; Michael, Jeremy, Brandon, Ilaria and Alexis Schiff. He is also survived by many great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter, and many other family and friends too numerous to name as he was loved by so many.

A graveside committal will be held Tuesday, February 13 at 11 AM EDT at the National Cemetery in Chattanooga, TN. Patriot Guard Riders will be accompanying Major Haskin from Jasper to Chattanooga National Cemetery. A memorial service for ALL family and friends will be held after the burial at 2 PM CST at Christ Church Episcopal at 3rd & Holly in South Pittsburg, TN.
