Mr. Henry “Clyde” Massengale passed away on November 2, 2018 at Canton, Georgia.
Mr. Massengale, born on April 8, 1924 in Chattanooga, Tennessee, was a resident of Marion County (South Pittsburg, Kimball, and Jasper) Tennessee. He was the son of the late Elbert and Emma Massengale of Chattanooga (Jones Station) Tennessee. In addition to his parents, his beloved wife Loraine Dilbeck Massengale, his siblings Ray, Elsie, Elbert, Brooks, Fred, Howard, Ruth Nole, Elizabeth, son-in-law Joe, and great grandson Ryan Rich preceded him in death.
Clyde lived most of his life (46 years) in Marion County. He worked in the Chattanooga Local 175 IBEW as an electrician, but was most proud of his role as husband, father, and granddaddy to his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an active member of Kimball Baptist Church, Kimball Tennessee.
Surviving is his daughter, Mrs. Anita Rebecca Massengale Sanders of Nashville Tennessee; a son Elbert “Ray” (Patricia) Massengale, of Canton Georgia where Mr. Massengale resided for the last 10 years. Mr. Massengale was “granddaddy” to Cynde (Jeff) Williams, Christi (Jim) Ryan, Elizabeth (Jonathan) Rutland, Mary-Margaret Massengale, Daniel (Abby) Massengale; and great grandchildren, Raechel (Delfino) Cervantes, Cassandra Sanders, Josh Rich, Cheyenne Ryan, and Jackie Cervantes as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Tate Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00 CDT Tuesday, November 6, 2018.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 p.m. CDT at Tate Funeral Home Chapel in Jasper, Tennessee with the Reverend Terry Humberd officiating.
Pall Bearers will be Jay Davis, Daniel Massengale, Josh Rich, and Jonathan Rutland.
Interment will follow at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
