Clayton “Pat” Bufford Patterson, 89 years of age, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 23rd, 2018. He was of the Baptist faith and attended Calvary Baptist Church in South Pittsburg.
Clayton was proceeded in death by his father and mother; George and Grace Patterson; his loving wife of 55 years, Mary Jasmine Patterson; daughter, Wanda Kay Love and son-in-law, William Charles Love.
He is survived by his son, James Clayton (Charlotte) Patterson; daughter, Billie (John) Middleton; two granddaughters, Rhonda (Chris) Kilgore and Christy (Von) Carter; brother, Hobert (Betty) Patterson; four great grandsons, Brandon (Monica) Kilgore and Brett (Marissa) Kilgore, Alex Moore and Jaxon Moore and one great-great grandson Brooks Crue Kilgore.
Clayton was a Veteran of the Korean War, where he served four years in the U.S. Navy. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #297 in Jasper, TN.
He retired from the U.S. Pipe Foundry, Chattanooga, TN in 1991 after 28 years of dedicated service.
Clayton was loved by all who knew him and will greatly be missed.
Family will receive friends on Monday, November 26th, 2018 from 4:00 pm CST to 8:00 pm CST. at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, TN. There will be a Masonic Service held in the chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Monday night at 7:00 p.m.
Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, November 27th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. CST with Reverend Chris Kilgore officiating. He will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens.
In Lieu of flowers, the family asked for donations to be made to Hospice of Chattanooga in his memory for the wonderful care they provided. The family wishes a special thanks to his nurse Elizabeth.
