Carolyn Mae (Brizendine) Lawson

Carolyn Mae Lawson, 64 years old, of New Hope, Tennessee gained her wings on Sunday, October 20th, 2019 after a lengthy illness.   Carolyn was a devoted wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend. 

Carolyn’s love for her family was unexplainable.  She always made sure they were well taken care of way before taking care of herself.  Carolyn loved being a homemaker and having the enjoyment of loving her family with all she had.   She never had a career outside the home, however her lifetime career was serving her God and her family.    Carolyn was the mold that held their family together.

Carolyn loved spending time with her devoted husband of 42 years along with taking pride and joy in the love of their son.   Nothing in life was more deserving than Carolyn taking care of her husband and son.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Edna Brizendine and her brothers, Anthony and Harold Brizendine.

Carolyn leaves those to cherish her memories are her husband, Paul Douglas Lawson; son, Charles Douglas Lawson; brothers, Troy Brizendine, Danny Brizendine and Robert Brizendine (Peggy); sisters, Kathy Brizendine White (Roger) and Judy Sampley (Lonnie) along with several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and great-great nieces.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm CDT and Wednesday, October 23, 2019 from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

The funeral service will be conducted in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home on Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at 2:00 pm CDT with Brother Doyle Chamblee officiating.  

Carolyn will be laid to rest at New Hope Cemetery in New Hope, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service.
