Barbara Durham

Barbara Durham, 79, of South Pittsburg, TN, passed away Tuesday, May 22, 2018.

Barbara was born May 23, 1938 to the late Ivera Waller and Inez Mclemore Scherrer; also preceded in death by sister, Beverly Waller.

She was a resident of New Hope, TN and a member of the Temple Bible Methodist Church of Chattanooga, TN. She served the Lord for 60 plus years and lived her life for the day she would live forever in heaven. She worked many years as a Nurse in the Nursing Home and Home Health. She loved helping others and spent many hours on her off days checking on her patients. When her health forced an early retirement she continued to Minister to others through phone calls and cards. Despite many battles with her health she was always thinking of ways to encourage other people. She cared deeply for her family. It was always a special time for her when all the family would be together.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 60 years Dennis Durham; son, Stephen Durham; daughter, Stephanie (Ron) Willet; sister Patrica (Jerry) Harbin; 5 Grandchildren, Sterling Lund Jr, Summer (Justin) Grider, Sarah Durham, Katie Durham, Seanna Lund; 1 Great Grandchild Lily Grider; close friends, Pete and Zella Lowrance; special thanks to Amedisys Hospice; her Nurse, Sandy Johnson and Caregiver Ann Maxey.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 24, 2018 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. CST.

Funeral Services will be conducted from the Tate Funeral Home Chapel Friday, May 25, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. CST with Bro. Tom Davis, Bro. Rob Jones and Bro. Ronnie Case officiating.

Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery.
