ROBERT JULIAN JOHNSON

Robert Julian Johnson, 74, of Jasper, Tennessee was called home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 9, 2024.  On June 21, 1949, he was born to the late Robert Hayward Johnson and Helen “Pete” Johnson.  Robert was married to Sandra Schierbaum Johnson and was a member of Jasper First Baptist Church.  He was a Forrester for Bowater and was a veteran of the United States AirForce.  Robert loved being in the woods, camping, fishing and walking.  He loved being independent and loved his family fiercely.  Robert was the most kindhearted and gentle man.  He spent four years in the United States AirForce serving in Vietnam and a brief time in the Philippines.  Robert loved his Military family and was a lifetime member of VVA Chapter 203, and a member of the Sequatchie Valley Honor Guard.

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Robert Hayward Johnson; mother, Helen “Pete” Johnson and grandson, Gage Stubbs.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Sandy Schierbaum Johnson; sons, Lamar (Chelsey) Johnson, Jordan Overstreet (Haley Gaunt); daughters, Lynn (Kevin) Tipton, Courtney Stubbs, Michelle Patrick; brothers, Cidney (Debbie) Johnson, Lyle (Ginger) Johnson, Andy (Susan) Johnson, Ben (April) Johnson; sisters, Rebecca Pryor, Berta Kay (Ray) Hagler, Irma (Scott) Holcomb, Connie (Larry) Hill; grandchildren, Audra (Tevon) Sears, Alexis Patrick, Kevin (Aleya) Patrick, Josiah Overstreet, Addie Overstreet, Taylor (Justin) Havis, Shelby, Karli and Luke Tipton, Collin and Braden Johnson, Lilly and Sadie Stubbs; twelve great grandchildren along with several nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.

The family will have visitation on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm CT and on Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 9:00 to 10:30 am CT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 15, 2024, at 10:30 am CT in the Chapel of Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee with Pastor Jeff McCartney officiating.

Robert will have a private burial at Chattanooga National Cemetery on February 15, 2024, in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Pallbearers are Kevin Tipton, Luke Tipton, Collin Johnson, Braden Johnson, Brent Johnson and Randy Johnson.
