PAULINE C. JOHNSON
Pauline C. Johnson, 82, of Battle Creek in South Pittsburg, Tennessee, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family when she was called home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, January 27, 2024. On January 31, 1941, Pauline was born to the late Rance Edward Castle and Claudie M. Thomas Castle. She was a member of the Church of the Nazarene in South Pittsburg for sixty-five years. Pauline was married to the late Thomas H. Johnson and had been a lifelong resident of South Pittsburg, Tennessee. She had a deep faith and had been employed by the Marion County school system where she worked as a custodian at South Pittsburg Elementary School for twenty-three years. She loved working for the school and most of all, loved all the children. Pauline also enjoyed watching the South Pittsburg Pirates play football at their home games, she was the biggest Pirate fan ever! Most of all, Pauline loved all her family.
Pauline is preceded in death by her father, Rance Edward Castle; mother, Claudie M. Thomas Castle; husband, Thomas H. Johnson; brothers, Claude and Clyde Castle; sister, Geraldine Lawson; grandson, Brandon Johnson; great granddaughters, Candace and Alexis Johnson.
Left to cherish her memories are her sons, Ransom (Kathy) Johnson, Kenneth Edward (Ashley Easterly) Johnson, Jason Daniel Johnson; daughter, Teresa Thomas Johnson; brothers, Rance (Wilma) Castle, Jr., Mark Rowland (Teresa) Castle; sisters, Cordie Cagle, Margaret Rollins; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family members and special friends.
Visitation is Tuesday, January 30, 2024, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm CT at Tate Funeral Home in Jasper, Tennessee.
Visitation will be Wednesday, January 31, 2024, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm CT at the Church of the Nazarene, 1111 South Cedar Avenue, South Pittsburg, Tennessee 37380.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at 1:00 pm CT at the Church of the Nazarene, 1111 South Cedar Avenue, South Pittsburg, Tennessee 37380 with Pastor John Barker officiating.
Pauline will be laid to rest at Sequatchie Valley Memorial Gardens in Jasper, Tennessee immediately following the funeral service.
Pallbearers are Hunter Massengale, Justin Johnson, Nickolas Johnson, Todd Johnson, Josh Kilgore and Calvin Massengale. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Thomas, Jason T. Johnson and Justin D. Johnson.
